About Trollstomper

The anonymous blogging site for social commentary in the UK

We would like TrollStomper to become a hub for people who are still interested in free speech within the UK. Our rights and freedoms over the last 50 years have been worn and worn and it's becoming ever more difficult to actually put one's point across without some minority group our other trying to kick you up the backside for saying something that seems to be totally reasonable.

Whereas we do not support breaking the law in any way, neither do we support the limitations on free speech we are now finding ourselves subject to.

We would like to run this site 'above ground' and make it a publicly available resource, so if you abuse the site by posting things that are illegal or totally inappropriate - we will ban you. If however we are hounded by the PC brigade, be warned that the site will move underground, at which point any form of moderation will become moot.

Essentially, if you don't agree with what's being posted, feel free to either comment and join the discussion, or look away. If you think you can squash free speech by twisting the law or indeed making up your own laws to suit yourself, be on notice - you're playing with fire!

Free Speech - Definition

"Freedom of speech is the liberty to freely say what one pleases, as well as the related liberty to hear what others have stated. Recently, it has been commonly understood as encompassing all types of expression, including the freedom to create and distribute movies, pictures, songs, dances, and all other forms of expressive communication."

Wikipedia

If you think we in this country have "Free Speech", you are sadly mistaken - there are things you simply "can't say" and the number of things you "can't say" increases all the time. In addition, there are things you "can't think". I know 1984 has passed but that only means that George's clock was out a little - not that he was wrong.

Democracy - Definition

"The term democracy indicates a form of government where all the state's decisions are exercised directly or indirectly by a majority of its citizenry through a fair elective process."

Wikipedia

That bit about "fair elective process", that's the bit that the Lib Dem's call "proportional representation" , and it's what the Torys and Labour call "changing borough boundaries to gain a majority in a chosen area".  So 10,001 labour votes gets you the seat on the council and power, and 9999 Tory votes and 9999 Lib Demo votes gets you precisely nothing. So 34% of the vote gets you 100% of the power, something people have accepted for a long time and called it "democracy" - but it's not!

And that bit about the "state's decisions being exercised by the majority", that's the PM saying "I know everyone wants something else, but I think this is best". If the current government doesn't scream "elected dictatorship", I really don't know what does.

So ...

You're losing your country - SPEAK UP!
